The mountain race will celebrate its eleventh edition on Sunday, March 15, and opens registrations next Monday, November 24, on the website www.lpatrail.com

The event will once again feature three modalities: 19, 11, and 5 kilometers, as well as the LPA Kids children’s race for boys and girls aged 0 to 12 and youth development categories for Infantil, Cadete, and Juvenil

The LPA Trail mountain race now has a date for 2026. The sporting event will be held on Sunday, March 15, with three different modalities: 19, 11, and 5 kilometers, as well as children’s races for boys and girls aged 0 to 12, which will take place in the historic center of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Registrations will open next Monday, November 24, through the event’s official website www.lpatrail.com.

The race reaches its eleventh edition, repeating this year’s successful program which managed to surpass one thousand participants. For 2026, the LPA Trail is once again committed to the development of young athletes aged 13 to 18, who can participate in the LPA Corta (Short) in the case of the Infantil (13-14 years) and Cadete (15-16 years) categories, and in the LPA Media (Medium) for the Juvenil (17-19 years) category.

The LPA Larga (Long) of 19 kilometers and 178 meters of positive elevation gain will once again start from the urban center of Santa Brígida to venture into the Santa Brígida, El Colegio, and Guiniguada ravines. Plaza de Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will again be the epicenter of the event, hosting the finish line for all modalities.

The LPA Media will start from the Football Field of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and finish in Vegueta. This modality allows participants to enjoy the mountains without leaving the capital of Gran Canaria. It will also feature youth development categories with a Juvenil classification for participants aged 17 and 18.

The LPA Corta will start from the Lomo Verdejo neighborhood and join the Medium and Long distances on its route until it reaches Plaza de Santa Ana. A fast and accessible race where participants can enjoy the mountains within the city. The LPA Corta will again have an Infantil category, for children aged 13 and 14, and a Cadete category for participants aged 15 and 16. Furthermore, minors aged 8 and over can also participate, always accompanied by an adult, to promote family sports.

Races for the Whole Family

The LPA Kids joins the trail festival in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria for the second consecutive year. As in the previous edition, the children’s race will have two categories: 200 meters for children aged 0 to 7, and 500 meters for participants aged 7 to 12. Families can thus be part of the event, enjoying an accessible and attractive route around the Plaza de Santa Ana.

Registrations will open at 10:00 AM next Monday, November 24, through the website www.lpatrail.com.

The LPA Trail is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Insular Sports Institute (IID) and the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council through the Municipal Institute for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sports of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (IMD); and collaborating entities Fred.
