The tenth edition of LPA Trail has a frenetic pace of registrations after the opening of registrations last December
With two months to go until the race is held, more than 800 runners have already registered for a new edition with new features in its routes
The LPA Trail will once again have three distances in 2025 (19K – 11K – 5K) suitable for all types of athletes and registrations are still available on the official website of the event.
One of the most relevant data to date is the increase in female participation compared to the 2024 edition with 32% of registered runners. Another highlight is the 21 nationalities represented and a percentage of 20% coming from outside the province of Las Palmas. Data that confirm the boom and interest in a race already consolidated in the trail running calendar in the Canary Islands.
This year’s race will take place on Sunday, March 30, with three distances: 19, 11 and 5 kilometers. One of the novelties will be the start of the long race, which this time will be from the historic center of Santa Brígida. This distance will cross the Barranco del Colegio ravine to Maipez, to face the final kilometers through the Guiniguada to the finish line located in the Plaza de Santana Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
For its part, the LPA Media will have a route of 11 kilometers starting at the soccer field of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and finishing at the Plaza de Santa Ana. An emblematic route through the greenest landscapes of the capital of Gran Canaria.
The shortest distance, the LPA of 5 kilometers, is the ideal scenario for runners who are new to this sport. The race will have its starting line in the neighborhood of Lomo Verdejo and will share part of the route with the other two distances until the long-awaited finish line in Santa Ana.
The organization of the race continues to bet on the training categories to encourage the practice of sports in young people between 13 and 18 years. Thus, children and cadets (13-14 years and 15-16 years, respectively) will have the opportunity to take the start in the short race, while the youth category (17-18 years) may do so in the middle race.
LPA Kids, the event for the little ones
The LPA Kids will once again have a special role for the third consecutive year with two categories, from 0 to 7 years old and from 8 to 12 years old, allowing families to enjoy a day of sports and fun in the surroundings of the Plaza de Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
The LPA Trail is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Instituto Insular de Deportes (IID) and the Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through the Instituto Municipal para la Promoción de la Actividad Física y el Deporte de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (IMD); and the collaborating entities Fred. Olsen Express, Gofio La Piña, Aguas de Teror, Pepsi, Emicela, Lorenzo González Automoción, Bonflex, Inetel, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Jardín Botánico Canario Viera y Clavijo.
