The tenth edition of the capital race will be held on March 30 with three distances (19K – 11K – 5K) for all types of athletes

Registrations are still open through the official website: www.lpatrail.com

The tenth edition of the LPA Trail continues to grow at a record pace. After the opening of registrations last December, the capital race already exceeds 1,000 registered participants, which is a historical record for a race that will again have three distances (19K – 10K – 5K) and that keeps open registrations through the official website of the race: www.lpatrail.com.

The LPA Trail offers distances to suit all levels. The Long LPA, with 18.8 km and a positive elevation gain of 178 meters, will take runners from the historic center of Santa Brígida to the Plaza de Santa Ana, crossing iconic landscapes of the capital of Gran Canaria. For those looking for an intermediate challenge, the LPA Media offers 11.4 km and 145 meters of positive elevation gain, starting at the University Soccer Field and a route through the greenest landscapes of the city. Another of the options offered by the race is the LPA Corta, of 5 km. A perfect option to get started in trail running with an accessible route that also opens the door to the youngest, allowing children from 8 to 12 years old to participate accompanied by an adult.

In addition, the organization of the race continues to bet on the training categories to encourage the practice of sports in young people between 13 and 18 years. Thus, children and cadets (13-14 years old and 15-16 years old, respectively) will have the opportunity to take the start in the short race, while those in the youth category (17-18 years old) will be able to do so in the medium race.

Return of the Rector’s Trophy
The 11.4-kilometer LPA Trail Media will once again feature the Rector’s Trophy, an internal competition of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to promote mountain sports and respect for the environment among university students.

Increase in female participation
One of the most outstanding data with the current record of participants is the increase in female participation with respect to the 2024 edition, which grows by 32.8%. In addition, more than 20 nationalities will be represented at the capital event. This data confirms the evident growth of the LPA Trail among the local public and the participants coming from outside Gran Canaria.

LPA Kids, the event for the little ones
The LPA Kids will again have a special role for the third consecutive year with two categories, from 0 to 7 years and from 8 to 12, allowing families to enjoy a day of sports and fun in the surroundings of the Plaza de Santa Ana in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. To date, more than 120 children have registered for one of the two children’s races.

The LPA Trail is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Instituto Insular de Deportes (IID) and the Ayuntamiento de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria through the Instituto Municipal para la Promoción de la Actividad Física y el Deporte de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (IMD); and the collaborating entities Fred. Olsen Express, Gofio La Piña, Aguas de Teror, Pepsi, Emicela, Lorenzo González Automoción, Bonflex, Inetel, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Jardín Botánico Canario Viera y Clavijo.
