The registration for the race opens on December 18th through the official website www.lpatrail.com
It will once again have three distances: 21, 11 and 5 kilometres, in addition to the LPA Kids race (0-12 years)
Following the success achieved in the last edition, the LPA Trail wants to repeat the good results in 2025. The capital race will be held on Sunday, March 30 with the three-distance format, suitable for all types of participants: 21, 11 and 5 kilometers. Registration for the tenth edition will open on Wednesday, December 18 through the official website (www.lpatrail.com). The event will once again feature children’s races of 200 meters (from 0 to 7 years) and 500 meters (from 8 to 12 years) so that minors can enjoy a family sports day around the Plaza de Santa Ana. For this reason, and to guarantee the best experience for participants in an event already established in the sports calendar, the race moves its celebration to Sunday, March 30.
Last year the LPA Trail broke the record of registered participants with 1,000 participants. Runners who take part in the March edition will once again have three distances: Long LPA of 21 kilometres; Medium LPA of 11 kilometres; and Short LPA of 5 kilometres. In addition, the organisation is once again betting on the training categories to encourage sporting activity among young people between 13 and 18 years old. Thus, children and cadets (13-14 years old and 15-16 years old, respectively) will have the chance to take part in the short race, while those in the youth category (17-18 years old) will be able to do so in the medium race. Not forgetting the celebration of the children’s races in the area around Plaza de Santa Ana.

Carla Campoamor, Councillor for Sports, Youth and Citizen Participation at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council, points out that “the diversity of LPA Trail sections means that all kinds of people take part in the event: from those who are regular participants in sporting activities and popular races in the city, to those who want to get started”, adding that “it is a unique opportunity for many people to get involved in more popular races”.
The 2024 edition stood out for a 33% increase in female participation, data that according to the Councillor “reflects the commitment we make from the administrations to promote sport among the entire population, especially among women”. Regarding the involvement of the race among the youngest, Campoamor stresses that “it is key that already established sporting events such as this one support them, because sport encourages healthy lifestyle habits, both in terms of diet and sports practice” and speaking specifically about LPA Kids, “it is an important modality for the youngest, because they are the future of our city”.

LPA Kids, a family day
This will be the third consecutive year that the LPA Kids has been held, the children’s race that with its two categories, from 0 to 7 years and from 8 to 12, allows families to enjoy a day of sport through the old town of the city. With the children’s races, both the organizing company, Arista Eventos, and the Municipal Institute for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sport of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, seek to promote sports from an early age.
The LPA Trail is organized by Arista Eventos and is sponsored by the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council through the Municipal Institute for the Promotion of Physical Activity and Sport of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (IMD), the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the Insular Institute of Sports, Tourism of Gran Canaria and the Viera y Clavijo Canary Botanical Garden; the Government of the Canary Islands with Promotur – Tourism of the Canary Islands, and the entities Fred. Olsen Express, Gofio La Piña, YoPro – Danone and Lorenzo González Automoción.
